Della Rice, the #1 specialty rice producer in America, has been family-owned and operated since its founding in 1986.
100% of our rice is grown in the United States, and the majority of our rice is sourced from Arkansas farmers, who produce more than 40% of the nation’s rice every year. That means we know exactly where our product comes from and what goes into every single bag we produce. Put simply, our goal is to serve quality and purity from our family to yours.

Our History
Della Rice, originally Della Gourmet Rice, was created by Lehman Fowler of Brinkley, AR. Mr. Fowler founded Specialty Rice, Inc. and subsequently Della Gourmet Rice in 1986. Della dropped its “Gourmet” name after the retirement of Mr. Fowler in 1994. In 1994, the Ajmera Family purchased the business and continued the legacy Mr. Fowler created. The family grew the business exponentially by expanding Della products into stores from the west coast all the way to the east coast and adding organic rice to the product listings. This organic product is sold under the name Yoga Organic Rice.
Today, Specialty Rice is still family owned and operated by Stephen and Micah Hilsdon of Brinkley, AR offering both Della Rice and Della Organic Rice across the United States. Stephen and Micah were both born and raised in Brinkley and have both worked in the rice industry for many years. Stephen started working for Specialty Rice, Inc. in 2006 as General Manager, growing and improving the business over the years, with Micah joining as Quality Manager. The two then made the decision to purchase the business to keep jobs in the Brinkley, AR community so they could keep the employees that they consider more as family than all else, while continuing the legacy of Della Rice and Della Organic Rice.
Stephen and Micah, being born and raised in the community and having personal involvement in farming life, value their growers and take a lot of pride in the products grown and packaged. Specialty Rice will continually strive to provide consumers with quality products, location availability, and to keep sharing this legacy from their family to yours. Della Rice has always been a family owned and operated business since its creation.

Specialty Rice, Inc. employs around 70 people at two locations, a production facility in Brinkley, AR and a warehouse and grain storage facilities in McCrory, AR.
